I have always loved our peach cabinets but as this update was part of our ‘get ready for sale’ plans we actually contemplated swapping them out for white ones to appeal to more buyers. But I couldn’t bring myself to do it, for me the peach adds a bit of interest and character, as well as being a bit of a design challenge, I just knew I could make it work. I talk a lot more about my inspiration for this space here.
This may not have been a full kitchen renovation, but its as close as you can get because the only original thing left of it are the peach cabinets. Everything including the kitchen sink has been replaced!

Not long after we moved in we added down lights, removed the blinds, painted the walls white and the window frames black, but the kitchen remained pretty much in tact until just a few months ago.
For this kitchen makeover I wanted to keep the colour palette restrained allowing the peach to be the star, so I choose white subway tiles for the back splash and a white Caesarstone bench-top, that would blend into the white walls and architrave. I choose gold handles as another warm element that I knew would compliment the peach. We also removed the old range hood and cupboards above it, opting for a stainless steel one to match the new cooker.

And one of my favourite features that I haven’t even mentioned yet is the contoured/fluted panelling we added to the front of the breakfast bar. It really adds another point of interest, is a definite conversation starter, and my favourite element of this space.
This has been one hell of a transformation, what was a dingy and dated space has been given new life, one I hope the new owners will love.

Looks so good – love the handles make it really pop
